Policy 72: Commitment to Access

UBC’s commitment to access, set out in Policy 72 governing financial aid access, states:
“No Eligible Student will be prevented from commencing or continuing his or her studies at the University for financial reasons alone.”

Policy 72 defines “Eligible Student” and also describes expectations for how students in various programs will access financial assistance funding.

Carefully READ both Policy 72 and Policy on financial support which explains: why the policy exists, how it works, and whether you qualify for financial support.

Students who foresee problems with their eligibility under Policy 72 should contact Pam Davidson (Student Financial Assistance Advisor) at 604.822.5111 upon an offer of admission to UBC Law.

Policy 72’s commitment to access applies only to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
Students on a study permit should review Financial Support for International Students.

To ensure fair and equitable access to funding, students are expected to utilize all resources available to them, in the following order:

Note:  It is essential to maintain a good credit rating prior to, and during, Law school.
