Whistler Forum for Dialogue 2005: Collaborative Governance in the Asia Pacific

In 2005, CRANE was invited to curate a public session for the annual invitational Whistler Forum for Dialogue, held at Millennium Place Theatre in Whistler, B.C.

Building Bridges, Expressing Collaboration through the Arts provided a very well-received counterpoint to the conference proceedings.  This unique session included performances by artists, musicians and dancers, including professionals and youth leaders from British Columbia and abroad, as well as presentations by Michelle LeBaron, Ruth Dick (Mount Currie Band, Lil’Wat Nation), Rena Sharon (UBC Professor of Music and Artistic Director, Young Artist Experience), Dolly Hopkins (Executive Director, Public Dreams Society).

The 60-minute performance was followed by a Q&A dialogue between audience and performers, moderated by Michelle LeBaron.

Performances by:
Romanza (formerly the Maple Leaf Tenors)
Gu Xiong, multimedia artist and photographer
Bo Peng, professional cello soloist and chamber musician
Public Dreams Society
Lambroula Maria Pappas, opera soprano
Rena Sharon, piano soloist
Lil’Wat Nation Youth Drummers
Youth chamber musicians from the UBC Young Artist Experience project
