Professor Perrin Appointed Senior Fellow at Leading Think Tank September 19, 2011The Macdonald-Laurier Institute for Public Policy today announced the appointment of Benjamin Perrin, Assistant Professor, UBC Faculty of Law as a Senior Fellow along with three other recognized experts in their fields. The non-partisan, Ottawa-based public policy think-tank was founded in 2010 and has already been named one of the top-20 new think tanks in the world by the University of Pennsylvania (Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program). "The chief foundation stone of any think tank's work is the quality of the people who contribute to its ideas, thinking and analysis," said MLI Managing Director Brian Lee Crowley. "By that measure, MLI's future is bright indeed." "The Macdonald-Laurier Institute has charted an ambitious course to significantly expand research and debate about pressing public policy challenges facing Canada," said Professor Perrin. "It is exciting to be part of this important national project." Professor Perrin's research agenda at the UBC Faculty of Law will be advanced through this fellowship with MLI through collaboration on a diverse range of projects related to law reform and public policy development in areas including immigration, national security, criminal law, and human rights. MLI publishes a commentary and policy report series that Professor Perrin will contribute towards as well as participate in several public policy events across Canada. Click here for more details
