U of T Law Recognizes Prof. Perrin with Top Young Alumni Award
Benjamin Perrin
November 14, 2011 - The University of Toronto's Law Alumni Association has recently announced that Benjamin Perrin is this year's co-recipient of the Wilson-Prichard Award for Community and Professional Service.
This award honours a graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in the first 10 years of his or her career who demonstrates the highest standards of professional integrity, excellence and leadership, and who has made a significant contribution to the legal profession and/or community through his or her public interest work, pro bono activities and/or community service.
Perrin is being honoured for a decade of research and advocacy related to human trafficking. Currently he is an Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Law and is the author of a best-selling book Invisible Chains: Canada's Underground World of Human Trafficking (Viking Canada, 2010). Perrin has had a direct impact on changing Canada's response to this hidden nation tragedy and contributed to international efforts to end modern-day slavery.
