The Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada spoke to a standing room only crowd on February 4, 2010 at the Frederick Wood Theatre on UBC's Point Grey campus. The event, sponsored by UBC Law, drew a crowd of over 400 and was a unique opportunity for students, faculty, staff and alumni to listen to the Chief Justice speak to the workings of Canada’s highest court. Following the lecture, the audience was able to engage with the Chief Justice in a spirited question and answer session that touched on a number of issues including equality and transparency in the courts.
