Law Alumni Association Announces 2008 Distinguished Speakers Fall Lunch Speaker
The UBC Law Alumni Association is delighted to announce the speaker for the 2008 Annual Distinguished Speakers Fall Lunch. On December 1, veteran CBC Washington Newsman Henry Champ will give the talk “The U.S. Presidential Election: What Happened?”
Henry Champ is CBC Newsworld’s correspondent in Washington, DC, delivering Canadian viewers the latest developments in the US political arena. Recently, he has been a leading Canadian voice on coverage of the war on terrorism, the war in Iraq and the growing concerns over the Canada-US relationship. Champ spent 10 years as a correspondent with NBC News before moving to Halifax in 1993 to become part of the anchor team of CBC Morning News.
Every year alumni, faculty and friends of the law school have the opportunity to hear renowned speakers from a variety of disciplines address a diverse range of issues. Previous Law Alumni Association Distinguished Speakers include Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin, UBC President Stephen J. Toope and Brian Burke, General Manager of the Stanley Cup-winning Anaheim Ducks.
