FRANK DRINKWATER LAWRIE   1919-2007

A member of the first graduating class from UBC Law, Frank Drinkwater Lawrie, passed away recently and KRML, a jazz/blues radio station located in Carmel, California, is broadcasting a tribute to Frank’s life from 5pm to 7pm, October 29th to November 2nd.   Frank was an avid supporter of jazz music and hockey and the tribute will feature stories about Frank from his start at UBC Law, through his work as a young lawyer in Kelowna and his banking career in Southern California.  He retired as a vice-president of First Interstate Bank in 1982 and is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Eva Joanne Lawrie; his sons Frank Davidson Lawrie and wife, Stephanie Allison Lawrie, and Steven Clark Lawrie; and sister, Margaret Groom. He was predeceased by his son, Douglas James Lawrie in 1989.
