Profile

Professor Pue, who holds the Nathan Nemetz Chair in Legal History, is currently on leave from the Faculty of Law to serve as Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President Academic Resources for the University of British Columbia.  He served as Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Research from July 2003 to January 2007 and as Director for the Graduate Programme in Law from 1996 to 1998.  His research interests extend to the histories of legal professions, comparative legal history, and issues related to constitutionalism and policing. Called to the Bars of the Northwest Territories and Alberta and an honorary member of the Honourable Society of Inner Temple, Professor Pue has held faculty positions or visiting professorships in Canada, the USA, England, and Australia and served as President of the Canadian Law and Society Association.  He is Series Editor for Canada’s Law and Society Book Series, published by the University of British Columbia Press: http://www.ubcpress.ca/books/series_law.html
