Profile
Robert T. Franson was called to the Bars of Michigan, 1968, and
B.C., 1979. Recently retired, Professor Franson joined the Faculty
in 1969. He served as Assistant Professor from 1969 to 1973, and
as Associate Professor from 1973 until his retirement in January
1990, When he was named Associate Professor Emeritus of Law.
Professor Franson was Director of the IBM-UBC Cooperative Project
in Law and Computers from 1986-89. He served as a consultant to
the Law Reform Commission of Canada from 1976-77. His teaching subjects
included: Administrative Law, Canadian Constitutional Law, Environmental
Law, Computers/Communications Law and Natural Resource Law. He has
published in the fields of Administrative Law, Environmental Law,
and Computers and the Law. He continues to be actively involved
in judicial education, particularly as it relates to the use of
technology in the courts.
