A dinner will be held to honour these seven outstanding individuals on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at the Four Seasons Hotel.  Reception will begin at 6:00 pm followed by dinner at 7:00pm.  Tickets are $100.  To order your ticket, click here. 

Background

The UBC Law Alumni Achievement Awards were launched to recognize the contributions of UBC Law’s best and brightest and are broken down into three categories: 

Alumni Award of Distinction

The Alumni Award of Distinction recognizes the outstanding achievements of a UBC Faculty of Law alumnus/alumna whose endeavours in the practice of law, government service, the judiciary, business, legal academe, community service or other areas have brought honour to the Faculty. The recipient need not have pre­viously received public recognition for his or her endeavours, but must have made a significant contribution to his or her field. 

Alumni Award for Research

The Alumni Award for Research recognizes a full-time member of the Faculty of Law at UBC whose research achievements have advanced the Faculty's reputation as a leading research institution.  The recipient of this award need not be an alumnus or alumna of the Faculty. 

Outstanding Young Alumnus/Alumna Award

This award recognizes an alumnus or alumna of the UBC Faculty of Law under 40 years of age whose endeavours in the practice of law, government service, the judiciary, business, legal academe, community service or other areas are worthy of recognition and have brought honour to the Faculty.
