A Place of Mind

The UBC Faculty of Law is committed to assisting students with their professional and academic growth. We encourage you to take advantage of the available opportunities and services.

Requesting Academic Concessions

UBC Faculty of Law recognizes that students' abilities to write examinations, meet assignment deadlines or to participate in class activities may be seriously affected by illness, family emergency, or other special circumstances. In the Faculty of Law, requests for academic concessions are directed to the Examinations Committee (through the Assistant Dean, Students) rather than through a student's professor. Students requesting academic concessions should review the Examinations Committee Procedures Governing Requests for Academic Concession by JD Students. Requests for academic concession should be made using the Examination Accommodation Request Formor the Paper or Assignment Extension Request Form . Requests should be made promptly and for already missed deadlines or examinations requests based on medical or compassionate grounds must be made no later than 3 days after the due date or examination date. Any questions about academic concessions should be directed to the Assistant Dean, Students.

Equity Resources

The UBC Faculty of Law provides an inclusive environment for all students.  In particular, the Faculty works to build a welcoming community for students with disabilities, women students, students of all racial and ethnic backgrounds and students of all sexual orientations and gender identities. more...
