Our Donors
UBC Law wishes to thank the following donors whose groundbreaking support helped us to meet and exceed our fundraising goal of $24 million, bringing the fundraising total for the building to nearly $35 million, making the campaign the most successful private fundraising effort in history for a Canadian law school building.
$9.825 MILLION
Peter Allard - Law alumnus Peter Allard donated $11.86 million to UBC Law. $9.825 million of this gift was directed towards the completion of the new building.
Matching Grant
The Law Foundation of British Columbia has generously offered a matching grant of up to $12 million.
This means that every dollar donated is matched by the Law Foundation - effectively doubling the impact of a donation to the UBC Law Building Campaign.
$1 MILLION
Borden Ladner Gervais LLP and the Ladner Family - In April 2007, UBC and the Faculty of Law received gifts totaling $1 million from Borden Ladner Gervais LLP and the Ladner family to support the building campaign.
Davis LLP and Irwin Davis - In December 2007, UBC and the Faculty of Law received a $1 million gift from national law firm Davis LLP and Irwin Davis, grandson of the firm's founder Edward Pease Davis, K.C.
Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy LLP - In September 2006, the Vancouver-based law firm donated $1 million to the Faculty building project.
Richards Buell Sutton LLP - In September 2007, UBC and the Faculty of Law received a $1 million gift from the Vancouver law firm towards the Faculty's new building project.

Fasken Martineau - In September 2008, the firm gifted $1 million to the Faculty of Law. The donation was for both the Faculty’s building project as well as the National Centre for Business Law.

Clark Wilson LLP - In 2009, Clark Wilson LLP announced a gift of $600,000 to be put toward the UBC Law building project.
